![]() "Since I am always looking for personal insight and ways to be more effective at whatever is at hand, I have taken a number of personal assessment tests over the years like Kolbe, Meyer-Briggs, and DiSC. However, as interesting or helpful each one has been, they did not provide me with the focus and clarity that the Perceptual Style Assessment and Recognized Strengths Assessment have done. For me, the strength in the theory behind these assessments, is its simple premise that by discovering and focusing on my natural talents, I can be much more effective in all aspects of my life. The material is easy to understand, and therefore, easy to embrace as I take specific steps of action aimed at helping me incorporate what I’ve learned into my life. The ‘icing on the cake’ is that I added the benefit of one-on-one interactions with Dr. Gary Jordan into my program! With his clear guidance, obvious depth of knowledge, and easy conversational style, he has made this a very worthwhile and rewarding journey for me. I would recommend not only the Recognized Strengths Profile program, but also Dr. Gary and Lynda-Ross to anyone interested in a unique approach to being more effective at all they do." A CASE STUDY written by one of our clients:
"A young girl sits by herself with a notebook and a pencil, watching her classmates play. She is perfectly content and at ease with herself as she observes and mentally collects images, information, and opinions about everything she sees, hears, smells, feels, and tastes. She begins to write in the notebook which contains her personal collections of poems, short-stories and songs about her view of the world around her. One day, a well-meaning coach steps in, “Don’t be such an outcast—they need another player on the kick-ball team. It’s OK to fit in, you know. Now smile, and get out there!” This one scene begins a transformation process that caused the girl to view what she naturally enjoyed doing as being wrong somehow, as “not fitting in.” Everyone wants to fit—somewhere. Along with our natural talents and skills, we’re also born with a natural desire to please others, so she learned how to smile and “fit in,” even when she didn’t want to. She now anxiously stands in her corner office looking out the window, wondering why she feels so empty and unfulfilled. She smiles for the first time in long time as she recalls the playground where she used to sit and observe her world—the last time she remembered being content and full of dreams—so many years ago. She was referred to Your Talent Advantage, and discovered how she could make small adjustments to better align her activities with her natural abilities. Now, instead of working through lunch staring at financial reports on her computer, she began staring out the window again, observing the world, and allowing her mind to capture the scene around her. She began writing again. Although her job didn’t change, her mindset did, and that started a transformation in her life that she desperately needed. Soon, her circumstances changed as well. She began writing for the corporate newsletter, which led to a weekly column in the local paper. Soon she had articles published in nationally distributed magazines and global websites. This—this is what she was meant to do. She just had to find herself again. She had to rediscover her true self—her natural skills and abilities. When that happens, that’s when the magic in life truly begins!" |
