The Science Behind our Product

Perceptual Style Theory® (PST) is built on the observation that perception is the source of an individual's natural repertoire of strengths, skills, and abilities. PST is based on the belief that the unique way an individual perceives the world forms their basis for natural potential, strengths, and the way they interact with others. Click here to learn more about the theory

Everyone perceives the world in one of six unique, innate perceptual Styles.  Your Perceptual Style is literally hard-wired.  The decisions you make, the actions you take, and the directions you choose are all influenced by your Perceptual Style. This is because our Perceptual Style defines our reality. Click here to read about each of the six Perceptual Styles

We've conducted multiple research studies to establish the reliability and validity of the Perceptual Style assessment and the Recognized Strengths Profile. We are very proud of the results. Click here to read about those studies

Gary M. Jordan

Gary Jordan, Ph.D., has over 40 years of experience in clinical psychology, behavioral assessment, individual development, and coaching. He earned his doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology – Berkeley in 1980.

Always fascinated by theories about types and styles, Gary found none of the theories that he studied integrated internal experience with observable behavior.   Beginning with his doctoral dissertation and continuing through his years in private practice, he worked to create a practical, usable, styles theory.

In 1983 he joined forces with Lynda-Ross Vega, and together they created Perceptual Style Theory® (PST). This revolutionary psychological assessment system provides the answers for people to tap into their natural strengths and find more meaning and satisfaction in life.

Gary is an expert at helping people to understand themselves and use that awareness to align their actions with their natural potential.

"Building your life on the foundation of your natural skills and strengths brings more joy and far more success than any other approach,” he says. “Tapping into your potential is exhilarating and rewarding."

Among his many hobbies and interests, Gary is a black belt and instructor in Shaolin Kenpo. Gary and his wife Marcia met when she joined one of his classes.
